Recipe Competition

Recipe competition for the whole family focuses on Ostrobothnian ingredients – now the most tasty main course in the province is being sought!
Are you inventive in the kitchen and like to work with local ingredients? Join the ''Ostrobothnia on the plate'' recipe competition – you can either participate alone or with your family. The competition is open to everyone interested in good food and runs from 20.5.–7.7.2024.
The recipe competition is organised in cooperation between Regional Council of Ostrobothnia and ProAgria Lantbrukssällskapet's project Kvarken Plate – Österbotten på tallriken/Pohjanmaa lautasella. The aim is to find a tasty main course that is mostly based on local ingredients.
"The basic idea is to engage the people of Ostrobothnia in innovative local food. Through the competition, we want to find a tasty and festive main course that represents Ostrobothnia," says Mats Brandt, Regional Director of the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia.
"Ostrobothnia is rich in tasty ingredients that our skilled producers produce. From the raw materials, with a little creativity, any dish can be created. It will therefore be exciting to see what new and exciting recipes the competition brings," says Meira-Pia Lohiluoma, Director of ProAgria Lantbrukssällskapet.
A thinning of the recipes will take place when the competition time has expired. The six best recipes go on to a final round where the participants get to prepare the dish for a taste jury. The winner will be announced in connection with Local Food Day on 7 September. Prizes will be awarded to the winner and all finalists.
