Sheep 

In Ostrobothnia, sheep farming is typically focused on meat production, with an emphasis on producing high-quality lamb meat. Although sheep production is not as extensive as cattle or pig production, there are still several farms and producers in the region dedicated to sheep farming. 

The sheep is a versatile animal that offers a range of different products and benefits for people and society as a whole:

• Meat Production: Sheep meat, especially lamb meat, is an important source of protein and a popular delicacy in many cultures around the world.
• Wool Production: Sheep's wool is one of its most well-known products and is used for making clothes, blankets, carpets, and other textiles.
• Leather Production: Sheepskin is used to produce leather for clothing, shoes, bags, and other leather products.
• Landscape Conservation: Sheep are sometimes used for grazing and landscape conservation, as they can help maintain open landscapes and prevent vegetation from overgrowing.
• Milk Production: Although sheep's milk is not as common as milk from cows or goats, it is still used to make cheese, yogurt, and other dairy products in some places.
• Biodiversity: Sheep can also contribute to preserving biodiversity by conserving old breeds and traditional agricultural practices.
